Bali is not a welfare state.
Orphanages depend upon what the community can share with them.
Poorer parents are often forced to choose between food and education.
When asking for a prioritised list of needs from an orphanage, the Flemings were shocked to see food as the top item.
Fortunately, what does not buy very much in Britain can make a material difference in Bali.
As the Powerpoint presentation states "An all inclusive health and education package for a child including books, equipment, medicines and food = £420 per year."
The presentation
also shows the wonder of children receiving a £10 gift pack.
This charity aims to take the pressure off some aspect of a disadvantaged child's
life
in order to improve both their present and their future.
